Teaching for Truth

Teaching for Truth

In this class, we will begin to unlearn what the world has taught us and open our hearts to the truth of God. The Holy Spirit is our Teacher, and His curriculum is simple: Truth is true, and nothing else matters. As we walk through this class, we will learn how to recognize truth, let go of guilt, and step into our God-given function of peace and love.

1. Introduction

We will open by acknowledging that truth does not need defense—it simply is. We’ll discover that truth comes from God and is recognized, not argued. Our goal will be to open ourselves to receive it.

📖 Scriptures:

  • John 8:32 – “Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
  • Psalm 25:5 – “Guide me in your truth and teach me.”
  • John 14:6 – “I am the way, the truth, and the life.”

2. The Conditions of Learning

We will learn that in order to receive God’s truth, we must first accept that we don’t already know everything. Humility and willingness are the starting points for real learning.

📖 Scriptures:

  • Proverbs 1:7 – “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge.”
  • James 1:5 – “If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God.”
  • Matthew 5:3 – “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.”

3. The Happy Learner

We will discover that joy is essential in spiritual learning. When we learn with happiness instead of guilt or fear, truth becomes much easier to receive.

📖 Scriptures:

  • Nehemiah 8:10 – “The joy of the Lord is your strength.”
  • Psalm 16:11 – “In your presence there is fullness of joy.”
  • Philippians 4:4 – “Rejoice in the Lord always.”

4. The Decision for Guiltlessness

We will recognize that holding on to guilt blocks learning and healing. Choosing to be guiltless is choosing freedom—and this choice brings peace.

📖 Scriptures:

  • Romans 8:1 – “There is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.”
  • Hebrews 10:22 – “Let us draw near to God… having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience.”
  • Isaiah 43:25 – “I, even I, am he who blots out your transgressions…”

5. Your Function in the Atonement

We will understand that our role is to reflect God’s forgiveness and extend it to others. We are part of the great healing plan by accepting guiltlessness for ourselves and our brothers.

📖 Scriptures:

  • 2 Corinthians 5:18 – “God… gave us the ministry of reconciliation.”
  • Matthew 5:9 – “Blessed are the peacemakers.”
  • Galatians 6:1 – “Restore that person gently…”

6. The Circle of Atonement

We will explore how forgiveness creates a circle of peace. No one is excluded from God’s love. When we include others in our forgiveness, we experience healing together.

📖 Scriptures:

  • Ephesians 4:32 – “Be kind and compassionate… forgiving each other.”
  • Matthew 18:21–22 – “How many times shall I forgive?”
  • Colossians 3:13 – “Forgive as the Lord forgave you.”

7. The Light of Communication

We will see that true communication is only possible through the Holy Spirit. His light allows us to understand each other beyond words and misunderstandings.

📖 Scriptures:

  • John 14:26 – “The Holy Spirit… will teach you all things.”
  • 1 Corinthians 2:13 – “This is what we speak… taught by the Spirit.”
  • Isaiah 30:21 – “Your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, ‘This is the way; walk in it.’”

8. Sharing Perception with the Holy Spirit

We will practice seeing the world and others through the eyes of the Holy Spirit. This corrects our false views and brings clarity.

📖 Scriptures:

  • 1 Samuel 16:7 – “Man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”
  • Matthew 6:22 – “The eye is the lamp of the body…”
  • John 9:39 – “For judgment I have come… that the blind will see.”

9. The Holy Meeting Place

We will discover that we meet God and our brothers in the same inner space—the place of holiness and unity where no guilt or fear can enter.

📖 Scriptures:

  • 1 Corinthians 3:16 – “You are God’s temple and… His Spirit dwells in you.”
  • Matthew 18:20 – “Where two or three gather in my name…”
  • John 17:21 – “That all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me…”

10. The Reflection of Holiness

We will reflect the holiness we see in others back to ourselves. When we choose to see God’s light in another, we strengthen that light in ourselves.

📖 Scriptures:

  • Matthew 5:14 – “You are the light of the world.”
  • 1 Peter 1:16 – “Be holy, because I am holy.”
  • 2 Corinthians 3:18 – “We… are being transformed into his image.”

11. The Equality of Miracles

We will learn that all miracles are the same because they come from love. There’s no “small” or “big” healing—only the extension of God’s power.

📖 Scriptures:

  • Mark 9:23 – “Everything is possible for one who believes.”
  • Luke 1:37 – “For nothing is impossible with God.”
  • John 14:12 – “Whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing.”

12. The Test of Truth

We will finish this class by examining how to know whether something is really from God. The truth brings peace, and anything that causes fear or conflict is not from Him.

📖 Scriptures:

  • 1 John 4:1 – “Test the spirits to see whether they are from God.”
  • James 3:17 – “The wisdom that comes from heaven is… peace-loving.”
  • Philippians 4:8 – “Whatever is true… think about such things.”

🕊 Final Reflection

This class invites us to become students of peace and joy, guided by the Holy Spirit. We will leave behind fear and guilt, and step into our true function as bringers of light. The journey may require unlearning, but what we gain in return is the certainty that we are God’s beloved, holy children—learning, living, and teaching the truth.
