The Goal of Specialness

In this class, we will look honestly at something we all experience but rarely question—the desire to be “special.” The world teaches us that to be loved, we must stand out, be better, or be different. But the Holy Spirit teaches us that real love doesn’t compare. It includes everyone equally. 1. Introduction

We will begin by understanding that the desire to be special separates us from others and from God. Specialness is the ego’s way of seeking love, but it always leads to loneliness and conflict.

2. Specialness as a Substitute for Love
